Did I brew this tea 3 years after the picking date? Yes, yes I did. Hopefully I'm not making Japanese tea masters roll in their graves.
Brew: 360mL kyusu, 5g in 170F for 60secs 1st; 2nd 175f 15 secs; 3rd 175f 25 secs.
Aroma: grassy, vegetal
Taste: smooth, vegetal, mellow, no bitterness, umami aftertaste
Overall: Not a bad sencha, and tastes pretty good even 3 years later (and after being open for who knows how long). Do I wish I had enjoyed this fresh? Most definitely.
Rating: 3/5
Rebuy: probably, esp to see how it tastes fresh.
